There are very faint impressions for the VIN number – they look like they’re from a dot matrix printer. We’ve cleaned the sticker, but it didn’t help. The CHP suggested trying to read it in the dark w/a flashlight or using a blacklight. We took it to CHP and if we can’t read the number (it’s not quite readable through the paint) it will be considered stolen and confiscated.
